Know Before You Go

  • To remain faithful stewards of North Carolina’s cultural resources, all outbuildings are temporarily closed as we assess and update the museum’s supporting structures.
  • At this time, we have self-guided tour pamphlets available for exploration of the grounds.
  • A wheelchair is available for guest use in the gallery space upon request.
  • There are two accessible parking spots to the side of the museum.
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted in the museum or outbuildings.
  • Food and beverages may not be consumed in gallery areas. Water in closed containers is permitted.
  • Purses, totes, and backpacks are permitted. We ask that any luggage or oversized bags are kept in your vehicle.
  • Photos may be taken on a personal device for personal use. Please remember to turn off your flash to protect the objects! Tripods, selfie sticks, and professional camera equipment are not permitted. For information on professional photography, please contact our Site Manager.
  • Strollers are welcome in the museum; however their use may be limited near fragile artifacts.
  • Visitors are not allowed to bring pets or emotional support animals into the museum. The Tobacco Farm Life Museum follows the requirements of the US Department of Justice's Americans with Disabilities Act and the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources for service dogs.
